This detector does work at the beach. It will preform better than the Ace 400 in the wet sand but will still have some issues since it is a single frequency VLF detector. You will need to turn down the sensitivity to make it stable so you will loose some depth. Pulse Induction and Multi-Frequency machines will be the most stable near the salt water and wet sand.
