I'm interested in the detectors using multiple frequencies. On the surface, that technology would seem to obsolete all other metal detectors. I would like to know the range of the frequencies and does this slow down metal detecting? Or do the detectors have the capability to transmit and receive all of the frequencies at one time? Or must the user determine the single frequency to use in a particular situation? I appreciate Kellyco's great service and will be buying in the future after some more detector research.

The Minelab transmits 3 frequencies at once into the ground. Minelab will not provide the ranges because it is proprietary. With the Vanquish, you cannot choose to operate in a single frequency mode. The Equinox's have the ability and those frequencies are 4 kHz to 40 kHz.
