O.K. My second question for your pro is , you recommended the NEL Tornado 12x13 for my Garrett Ace 250 will I/should I calibrate or fine tune the coil matched with my detector? Is there an internal trimmer? Do I calibrate every time I switch coils....and are you sure this coil is a better fit than the Detech 10x5 S.E.F. WSS coil that I was about to purchase... View answer

I’m looking at the Garrett ATX and the minelab CTX3030. I am civil war relic hunting in woods , fields, streams and I’m not sure which one will give me the most depth and accuracy in any or all of those places. I have a vanquish that gets me down a good foot when it’s just a grassy area. I need to know my machine can go much deeper. I know I’m missing some things because they are much deeper. I feel I’m just scratching the surface . View answer

States that the 'carabiner is important because it increases the reliability of the equipment', also that it 'will help keep everyone safe'.. How does it incr reliability? Is there a reason not to just attach the rope to magnet (one less thing that could fail)? Maybe the answer to that, also answers how it keeps me safe too. Thanks for your time. View answer

I'm interested in the detectors using multiple frequencies. On the surface, that technology would seem to obsolete all other metal detectors. I would like to know the range of the frequencies and does this slow down metal detecting? Or do the detectors have the capability to transmit and receive all of the frequencies at one time? Or must the user determine the single frequency to use in a particular situation? I appreciate Kellyco's great service and will be buying in the future after some more detector research. View answer
