I'm interested in the detectors using multiple frequencies. On the surface, that technology would seem to obsolete all other metal detectors. I would like to know the range of the frequencies and does this slow down metal detecting? Or do the detectors have the capability to transmit and receive all of the frequencies at one time? I've been trying to decide on a detector to get. Originally I was looking at the Garrett ATX Extreme or Pro. The main feature I like being the fact that it can be so compact and fit into a backpack basically. Now I am looking at the CTX3030. For the sake money it looks like it has a lot more awesome features and it looks to be a lot nicer detector. But dosent look like it has the ability to be as compact or collapsible. I read a few bad reviews about the ATX aswell. But everything with the CTX looks really good. I mainly want a really nice detector for looking for gold nuggets.
