O.K. My second question for your pro is , you recommended the NEL Tornado 12x13 for my Garrett Ace 250 will I/should I calibrate or fine tune the coil matched with my detector? Is there an internal trimmer? Do I calibrate every time I switch coils....and are you sure this coil is a better fit than the Detech 10x5 S.E.F. WSS coil that I was about to purchase... View answer

I need to buy a metal detector to find gold. I also would like to have the ability to find coins. My first thought was to buy the Minelab Gold Monster 1000. The Vanquish 540 seems to be very capable of finding gold at great depth. Occasionally I would like to scan over some rocks to see if there is gold inside them and was wondering if the Vanquish 540 can see into rocks? View answer

I currently use the Garret AT Pro and I am starting to hunt salt water beaches in Florida. I am having a real hard time regulating the AT Pro. How does the E-800 compare in wet and dry sand and in the salt water? Also, how do the two machines compare for coins, rings, etc. on lawns? Thanks. View answer

I have an ace 400 detector. I have been thinking about getting a newer one lately. any suggestion? I still have an older detector that I have had for many years now but, the battery compartment broke and I can't find a new one? Other than that....I works fine. I have used it in southwest Texas on the battlefields of Palo Alto and also Resaca de la Palma! I have recovered Many artifacts from those battlefields along with many artifacts from a former campsite during the Mexican War along the Banks of the Rio Grande river. Oh xxxx , I got thrown out of there because the goverment decided to build the Spaceex. Just down the road from Brownsville texas. Oh well, that's life and I'll not forget it. I started detecting 30 years ago and I have bought 5 or 6 machines from you in the past 20-25 years. My detectors are about 8 years old and older, so they are not the most up to date so to speak. It has been about 8 years since I did any detecting. I am in my 70's and I am wanting to get back in the "coin hunting" field. It sounds like the Striker Z60 would be a pretty good fit? View answer
